Signet's Own Line and Field Marking Paint on field

Which paint is right for your line marking application?

From warehouse walkway to football field, where you mark can make all the difference. Do it once and do it right by choosing the right paint for the job.

There is nothing more frustrating than marking a carpark or warehouse only to have to remark it in a few months' time or marking your sporting field, and it destroys the grass. When choosing a line marking paint, there are several options available, and to make sure you’re getting the best results, it's important to choose the right paint for your application.

Signet’s Own Line Marking Aerosols

Where can I use it?

Looking to mark a carpark, warehouse, or walkway, Signet’s Own Line Marking Aerosols are the tool for the job. Signet’s Own Line Marking Aerosols are solvent-based, available in 10 different colours and designed to be used on surfaces such as bitumen, concrete, soil, and timber. They come in 500g cans and are made locally at Signet’s Paint Manufacturing Facility in Brisbane.

Signet also manufactures a Turf Marking White Aerosol, a grass-friendly solvent-based paint intended for smaller line marking applications onto the grass.

What accessories should I use with it?

Signet’s Own Line Marking Trolley is made specifically to fit Signet’s Own Line Marking Aerosol Cans and is recommended to use with our paint can to achieve a steady and exact line quickly.

How to use and store?

To get the most from your line marking cans, it is essential to properly prepare the can before spraying and clear the can after.

Before spraying, shake the can for at least 30 seconds after hearing the marble start to rattle. Ensure the nozzle is clear and the surface you are spraying onto is clean and dry. You should also shake regularly during spraying to ensure consistency is maintained.

Once you’ve finished spraying, hold the can upright and hold down the trigger until the spray becomes clear of paint and there’s no residue left on the nozzle. This will make sure it’s ready for the next spray and won’t shorten the lifespan of the can.

All aerosol cans should be stored in a cool, dry environment below 50°C. If they are mixed and stored correctly and the nozzle cleared after each use, they should last indefinitely.

What are the benefits?

Signet’s Own Line Marking Aerosols are convenient and easy to use. You can grab a can, start marking and then put it away once you are finished, with minimal prep or clean up required. They are also quick drying and only take 3-5 minutes to dry per coat, under standard conditions.

Field Marking Paint

Where can I use it?

If you’re needing to mark a school sporting field, football field, cricket field, athletics field, or sporting arena, then Signet’s Own Field Marking Paints are what you’re looking for. Signet’s Own Field Marking Paints are water-based and designed for marking onto grass sporting fields. They come in 15L buckets and are made locally at Signet’s Paint Manufacturing Facility in Brisbane.

They’re available in 8 different colours, including Ultra-White, a high opacity option designed for applications that require an extra bright contrast and high visibility, or that are subjected to wet conditions.

What accessories should I use with it?

Signet recommends using our Field Marking Paint with the Graco FieldLazer S90, a battery powered line marking machine. The Graco FieldLazer combines high-pressure, airless technology that gives you better coverage and a professional, crisp and bright line. It is simple to use, clean and store saving you time, and has a removable spray gun for painting stencils and hand applications.

How to use and store?

Signet’s Own Field Marking Paints are designed to be diluted, and for the bests results it’s recommended to mix them at a ratio of up to four parts water to one part paint. Once mixed you should use the paint within 2-3 days, otherwise you risk the paint spoiling.

When marking on grass apply at least two coats of the paint in opposite directions to ensure both sides of the grass are coated. After marking, Signet’s Own Field Marking Paint takes 15-20 minutes to dry, depending on the weather and number of coats applied.

Our Field Marking Paint has been designed with advanced technology that reduces settling after mixing. This ensures the paint is easy to mix and makes clean-up a breeze when you’re at the end of the job or changing colours.

Signet’s Own Field Marking Paint should be stored in a cool, dry environment, and if stored correctly and unopened can last up to four years. Once opened the paint should be used within a few weeks or transferred to a clean smaller container.
