Naturally Australian Tea Tree oil (NATTo) is an Australian company that produces the finest quality tea tree oil, which is free from any harmful chemicals, additives or synthetics. The company prides itself on practising environmentally friendly and sustainable practices throughout its farming and production processes.
Based on the luscious grounds of northern New South Wales, NATTo first started growing Melaleuca Alternifolia, better known as tea tree, there as this is its natural habitat. NATTo’s current 672 hectare property is considered to be the largest privately owned tea tree oil plantation in Australia.
The tree oil is steam-distilled from the leaves, branches and stems of the trees grown at NATTo’s plantation. The steam releases the aromatic molecules from the tea tree and opens the deposits of oil inside the plant. The molecules of the exquisite oils then escape into the steam, which is put through a cooling system, forming a liquid from which the essential oil is then extracted.
This process delivers the finished product of tea tree oil, which is used throughout NATTo’s product range.
Tea tree oil is used in a number of applications due to its high antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral qualities, making it, and NATTo’s products, an ideal natural treatment for skin, nails and hair.
The production and distillation process involves machinery with moving parts. In the same way NATTo prides itself on being an environmentally sustainable business, it also prides itself on being a safe place to work.
