Like a bee to honey, beeswax wrap business, HoneyBee Wrap found their other half in Signet’s Honeycomb Mailers and said goodbye to plastic packaging.
Sustainable farmer and mum of five, Sherrie Adams, created HoneyBee Wrap eight years ago while looking for alternative ways to wrap and store her homegrown produce. She’d heard about the antibacterial and anti-fungal properties of beeswax and began experimenting in her home kitchen.
After six months of trial and error, she was selling her beeswax wraps at the Byron Bay markets, and before too long, got her first wholesale order. They’ve since branched out from their foundation product and today sell their range of waste-free solutions through over 500 retailers globally and their online store.
When HoneyBee Wrap started online, they were using Australia Post satchels to ship their orders. While it was an easy solution for the start-up business, the obvious issue was the plastic — it went against their sustainability mission.
