Evaluate the Product
When evaluating a product to be shipped there are many important aspects to consider, so we've broken them down below into three simple steps. First things first, you need to measure your items, including their weight. Secondly, if your item is fragile you may need to allow extra carton space for Protective Packaging such as Void Fill and Bubble Wrap. Thirdly, you need to consider where the product is being shipped to.
1. Measure the Product
To accurately measure your product, it's handy to have a tape measure or ruler on hand to get the dimensions spot on. Shipping Cartons are measured by their length, width and height. It is also essential to weigh your products, as this may determine what strength of Carton and Packaging Tape you need.
2. Protective Packaging
Once you have measured you can then assess approximately how much extra space in the carton you will need for Protective Packaging or wrapping. Depending on what type of Protective Packaging you choose, some can take up more or less space than others! 3. Destination
Whether it’s local, interstate or overseas, this can have an impact on how the carton will be treated in transit. Further to this, you may need to choose a more robust Packaging Tape such as a Natural Rubber Adhesive Tape, a thicker, Heavy Duty Natural Rubber Adhesive Tape or a Reinforced Water Activated Tape.
