Frequently Asked Questions about Field Marking

What surfaces can Signet’s Field Marking paint be used on?

Signet’s Own Field Marking Paint and Turf Marking Aerosol are best used on grass.

Do you dilute Signet’s Field Marking Paint with water?

Yes, Signet’s buckets of Field Marking Paint require you to mix up to four parts water to one part paint to provide optimal line colour and consistency. Signet’s Own Field Marking Paint is easily mixed and can be easily remixed the following day without settlement. It is recommended that you mix the water into the paint, not vice versa.

How much can I get out of your 15L drum of Field Marking Paint?

Signet’s Own Field Marking Paint is meant to be diluted, so following our 4:1 ratio, a 15L drum of Field Marking Paint is equivalent to about 75L. To put this into perspective, this will cover up to 4 school sporting fields with a single coat under standard conditions. However, the width of the line, length of the grass and speed at which you mark the field can affect this.

How many layers of Field Marking Paint is required?

How long does it take for your Field Marking Paints to dry?

Once dry, Signet’s Field Marking Paints cannot be removed, however, Signet does offer a green Field Marking Paint to match typical ground/floors colours and can be used to cover errors.

Is Signet’s Field Marking Paint easy to clean out of the field marking machine?
