Signet has a variety of machine packaging tapes from leading brands Tesa, 3M™ in addition to the Signet's Own range.
Below are a few frequently asked questions to help determine which tape is appropriate for your needs.
1. Are there any tapes that are suitable for cold environments?
Yes. The Tesa 4262 and Signet's Own Acrylic Machine Tape are perfect for cartons that will be shipped or stored in cold environments due to their water – based acrylic adhesive. To maximise the tapes performance and adhesion, apply the tape before exposing cartons to cold environments. The Signet's Own Acrylic tape is backed by the 'Signet's Own' brand of high quality products at lower prices.
2. Do you have a tape to seal light weight cartons?
Signet has a range of general purpose packaging tapes that will quickly and effectively secure light weight cartons and their contents. Tesa 4263 Machine Tape is a 30 micron (um) tape and provides great adhesion to both cardboard and fibre. The Signet's Own range has two high quality, cost effective machine tapes which are the Rubber Solvent and Hot Melt Machine Tape. Both tapes are able to be used on most cardboard types and have fantastic adhesive strength. The Rubber Solvent Machine Tape is 30um and the Hot Melt Machine Tape is 28um.
3. What tape is best for large production lines?
The Scotch™ 372 Machine Tape has two key features which make it ideal for more demanding applications. Firstly, the tape is 35 um which gives it more strength to ensure that it is able to stand up to consistently punishing conditions. It also has a highly aggressive adhesive which creates a secure and strong bond to the carton's surface every time.
