At Signet, we enjoy supporting a number of community events throughout the year. This year in particular Signet has become involved in a number of community based activities and fundraisers for worthy causes. We like to choose our community participation based on the benefit to the communities we do business in and the opportunity for our staff to be included.
It's always busy at the Signet office, but we are never too busy to get involved with some community events. The last six months in particular we have hosted a number of morning teas in aide of some worthy causes. Most recently staff at the Brisbane office donned their best pink attire in honour of Pink Ribbon Day and breast cancer research, our annual morning tea raised over $500. The team have also hosted a loud shirt day to raise funds for World Vision and put their chefs hats on to bake cupcakes for the RSPCA, in all raising over $360 for some worthy causes.
Our continued support of the Richmond Tigers has not only allowed Signet to partner with a great organisation, but has also assisted the Tigers in their delivery of meaningful community programs. In particular the Richmond Football Club has this year partnered with the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, a national organisation working to protect Australian children from violence and caring for those who have been affected.
Finally, office rivalry was at an all time high with the running of the annual Bridge to Brisbane. 22 of Signet's Brisbane staff participated this year, making it the 7th year Signet has participated as an organisation. As always the purpose of Signets staff participation was for more than just bragging rights for having the best time in the office, but to raise funds for this year's nominated charity The Kids Help Line. This year the Signet team raised a whopping $1300, which will go towards offering a 24 hour counselling service for children.
The opportunity to support community based projects is important to Signet and our team. We strive to play our part and support where we can. As our business grows, so will our ability to have more positive contact with the communities we are a part of and it is something we are looking forward to.
