As we head into a new year, it’s the perfect time to look back at how Australia’s packaging landscape has evolved, and how Signet customers have helped lead the charge. From switching to more responsible materials, to embracing packaging efficiencies that reduce both waste and cost, 2025 has shown that sustainability and performance can absolutely go hand in hand.
Across the country, businesses of all sizes continued to reassess their packaging footprints and make confident choices toward better environmental outcomes. At Signet, we’ve been proud to support this shift by expanding our sustainable product range, continuing to improve our own operations, and partnering with customers to deliver solutions that genuinely make an impact.
Here's a snapshot of the year that was.

New Sustainable Products Introduced to Signet
This year, Signet introduced 36 new sustainable packaging products, expanding our offering to 232 distinct products - giving customers more choice, more flexibility, and more opportunities to reduce their environmental footprint.
These additions were thoughtfully selected to align with what our customers told us matters most: high-performing materials that are recyclable, compostable, made from recycled content, or designed to replace traditional plastics. From fibre-based protective packaging to biodegradable alternatives and recycled-content postal supplies, our focus has been on helping customers transition without compromise.
As we look ahead, this product expansion will continue, with even more innovations already in development for 2026.

Sustainable Products Sold in 2025
The uptake of sustainable packaging also continued to accelerate this year. 10.4% of all Signet products sold in 2025 were part of our sustainable packaging range, a clear signal that businesses are actively choosing solutions that have a lighter impact on the planet.
This shift is being driven by more than just environmental goals. Many customers highlighted improvements in efficiency, cost savings from using the right-sized or high-performance packaging, and better alignment with consumer expectations. Sustainability has become a strategic advantage, and we’re proud to support customers who are leading by example.
Top 3 Sustainable Products of the Year
While the entire sustainable range saw strong engagement, three products stood out as the clear favourites among Signet customers in 2025:
1. FillPak TT Greenline Paper
Why it stood out: impressive protective performance, convenient storage and ease of use (with or without compatible machinery).

2. Shipping Cartons
Why customers loved it: durability, sustainability credentials, wide variety of sizes and applications.

3. PCR Blown Film
What made it popular: superior protection, operational efficiency and being made from recycled or renewable sources.

Together, these products demonstrated that sustainable packaging can still deliver on protection, productivity, and price - and often outperform conventional options.

Signet’s Sustainable Initiatives
In addition to expanding our sustainable product offering, Signet made meaningful progress across several internal and community-focused sustainability initiatives. This included:
- 81% of Flexibles Waste Diverted – 81% of waste generated was reused, recycled or repurposed rather than be sent to landfill. A great example of how operational efficiency and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
- 46% of Warehouse Energy Powered by Solar – Solar utilisation increased by 12%, showing a stronger reliance on renewable energy even with lower overall energy demand.
- 49% Decrease in Carbon Emissions* – 9% decrease YoY, roughly the same as removing 190 cars from the road for a year! *FY22 to CY24
These initiatives reflect Signet's ongoing commitment to doing better - not just through the products we supply, but through the way we operate and the partnerships we invest in.

Eco-Friendly Case Studies from the Signet Blog
Some of the most inspiring sustainability wins this year came directly from our customers. Throughout 2025, we shared a range of eco-friendly case studies on the Signet blog, highlighting how different businesses approached sustainability in unique ways. A few standouts include:
Art Shed
Art Shed uses a mixed palette of Signet packaging essentials to streamline their despatch process, protect fragile goods, and minimise waste.

These stories showed that sustainability isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. When businesses pair the right packaging with the right processes, the environmental and operational gains can be significant.

Looking Ahead in 2026
If 2025 has shown us anything, it’s that sustainable packaging is no longer just a trend, it’s a critical part of how Australian businesses operate and innovate. With more product expansions planned, ongoing sustainability initiatives underway, and ambitious goals for the future, Signet is ready to help customers continue this progress into 2026.
Together, we can keep making packaging better - for businesses, for customers, and for the planet.
