Competition Terms & Conditions

YBG Beijing Trip & Camera Prize Draw

Information on how to enter the promotion forms part of these terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
The promotion commences at 00.01am on 1st February 2008 and ends at 5.00pm (AEST) on 31st May 2008 ('Promotion Period').
Entry is open only to Australian residents over the age of 18 years during the Promotion Period ('Eligible Entrants'). Directors, management, employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
To enter, Eligible Entrants must, during the Promotion Period, purchase goods from Signet via phone 13 7446, fax 1300 304 305, email sales@signet.net.au or online www.signet.net.au. One entry for each daily draw is received for each order placed.
Entrants (including daily winners) in the competition may enter as many times as they like.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address in order to claim their prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
Entry into the promotion is given to each customer who places an order over $50 in a single order during the months of February to May 2008. An order may be placed via phone, fax, email or at www.signet.net.au.
Entries for each Daily Draw must be received by 5pm (AEST) on each working business day until 31st of May 2008. The time of entry will in each case by the time the order was placed with Signet and logged on our database. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries due to technical difficulties.
Each valid entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the promotional period will be entered in to the relevant Daily Draws. The Daily Draws will take place at Signet, 56 Ingleston Road, Wakerley, QLD 4154, on the following working business day.
Each daily prize draw Winner will be also be entered into the Grand Prize draw along with all other customers who place an order during the promotional period. The Grand Prize draw will take place at Signet, Unit 44 2 Railway Parade, Lidcombe NSW, 2141 on 10th June 2008 at 10.00am (AEST).
The result of the draws is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winners will be notified by telephone or e-mail within 2 days of the draw date and will also be sent a letter advising them of their prize. The Grand Prize draw winners name will be published in the Public Notices section of The Australian newspaper on 16th of June 2008.
There will be eighty seven prizes in total. Daily Prize Draw - During the promotional period of the 1st of February to the 31st of May 2008 the first Eligible Entrant drawn from all valid entries as outlined in conditions 4, 7 and 8 will receive a Samsung STC – L730 Digital Camera valued at $249.0. A total of eighty six cameras to be given away in total. For the Grand Prize Draw the first Eligible Entrant drawn will receive two economy class return tickets from Australia to China departing on the 16th of August, travelling from the winner's nearest capital city (the prizewinners and their nominated guests must travel together on all flights), transport transfers, one double room at Landmark Hotel, breakfast daily, lunch or dinner dependent on the events programme, four Sporting Event tickets per person, Sponsor Hospitality passes and two half-day excursions. Maximum retail value of the Major prize is A$15249.00 including applicable taxes and GST.
The maximum total prize pool value is A$36,663.00 based on the recommended retail value at the time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prizes. All prize values are in Australian dollars.
The promoter’s decision is final and the promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.
Once prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
The Grand Prize does not include travel insurance, passports, visas or spending money. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prizewinner and his/her nominated travel companion. Without limiting the above, entry onto any country and satisfying any customs or related requirements is the full responsibility of the winner and their nominated travel companion. Prize travel is subject to fare rules and the General Conditions of Carriage of the relevant carrier. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and trade.
Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not transferable to another person (unless agreed to by the Promoter) or exchangeable for other goods and services and cannot be redeemed as cash. No changes made to travel arrangements once tickets issued.
In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
The Promoter and their related bodies corporate, officers, employees, contractors and agents, and all other suppliers of prizes, will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential loss) which is suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of an entrant being unable to satisfy these terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming a prize. If a prize remains unclaimed on 1st July 2008) a second chance draw will be held at 10.00am (AEST) on 10th July 2008 at Signet Unit 44 2 Railway Parade, Lidcombe NSW, 2141, subject to any written directions given under applicable law. The second chance draw winner will be notified by telephone or e-mail within 2 days of the second chance draw date and their names published in The Australian newspaper on 31st of July 2008.
If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation and the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this promotion.
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Eligible Entrants consent to the Promoter using and disclosing to its agents, contractors and entities associated with this promotion personal information provided in connection with this promotion for the purposes of facilitating the conduct of the promotion and awarding any prizes.
